Obsessed: White Hot Summertime Coverups

What to wear to the beach or pool...  Having lots of swim options is great.  But when it comes to coverups, I like to keep things simple.  A piece that looks amazing with everything.  Nothing is more fabulously versatile than a little white coverup.  Consider it your summertime bestie.  Love.

Men: Dress Up in Summer's Best Blazers and Sportcoats

Now that summer's here, not too many guys are thinking layers.  Yeah...  I get it-it's hot.  But there are times when a button down, shorts or jeans just aren't enough.

For parties, weddings, or events, a great sportcoat or blazer is a must.  Lightweight styles in cotton (or blend) that breathes well is the way to go.  These aren't your suity blazers, instead a sporty version of the classic.  Pair with jeans, shorts or chinos, they're perfect for your summertime events.

Style Tip: Daytime, try avoiding the color black if possible.  It's known to absorb heat.

A Father's Day Tribute to My Husband

My husband would tell you, he never intended to be a dad.  I wanted three kids and he wanted none.  So, we compromised and had one.  The day our son was born, I think we were both in a state of shock.  Hello, we just had a baby, but looked at each other like, "now what?"  Of course, all doubt had left when the nurse handed him to me.  He looked right up and I knew he was mine.  I loved him that very moment.  My husband on the hand, left for home to let our dog out.  And had to go buy a car seat (nope, we weren't prepared).  Today, I'm sure he would tell a slightly different story.

But as you'll see in the photos, his love for our son goes beyond anything I could describe to you.  Since bringing him home from the hospital, my husband hasn't missed a moment in his life.  From the late night feedings to the first day of preschool until now, he's been an amazing father and role model to our 9-year-old.  For that, no one is more blessed than we are.  Thank you Love for being a great dad to our boy and wonderful husband to me.  Happy Father's Day!

And to all Dads...  I hope you enjoy a fantastic Father's Day with your families!!!

My Dad, My Hero

There aren't enough words to express the love that I feel for my father.  He's my hero.

I will never forget the story... Of when our family first immigrated to the US.  I was just 5-years-old; one of 4 kids living in a little apartment in Philadelphia.  Neither he nor my mom knew a word of English, but they were determined to make it in America.  Dad landed a factory job and was so excited. Although, the first day of work didn't go too well.  His instructions were to take the train across town (would have been great if he could read the signs).  But everything was foreign-nothing made sense.  And he was lost for hours.  Fortunately, with help from strangers, he finally made it to work and his way back home.  From then, he taught himself English, has gone on to open businesses, and work for himself.

"Nothing comes easy," he would say.  "You have to work for what you want in life."  It's that belief and strong work ethic that remains with me today.

Last year everything changed.  Our dad was diagnosed with Dementia and can no longer work.  Some may consider it as an early retirement.  Not our dad.  It's like telling an artist they can no longer paint, or an athlete they can no longer play.  It's been difficult on all of us, but especially challenging for him.

This Father's Day, I want say, "thank you Dad."  We love, appreciate, and admire you so much.

Love Always,
Your Daughter

Stylish Father's Day Gifts for the Entrepreneur

Being married to a guy who works on his own schedule, I'm used to seeing him in a relaxed wardrobe.  To say his cut-offs and sneakers even qualifies as "work" is questionable.  But as long as there's a paycheck at the end of the day, that's good enough for me.  And he's a pretty great "Dad" too.

Whether your guy's an entrepreneur or more 9-to-5, these Father's Day picks should definitely earn brownie points this holiday.  Always chic and Dad should get plenty of use out of them.  Here are some ideas for the man who deserves to be celebrated.

Style Inspiration: Sunday Play

It's been years since my husband and I have been to a musical.  Thinking back, our son was just a month old when we took him to his first event.  I know...  What was I thinking taking a newborn to a show?  The invitation came from a friend who performed in an a cappella group, and we couldn't turn him down.  We took a chance and to our surprise, our son loved the music.  He just laid in my arms-didn't make a sound the entire time.  Good thing, because I'm sure the ushers were ready to escort us out at anytime.

So this weekend, a friend of ours and her son invited us to see them perform in "The Sound of Music."  Boy, I wish we could have done this sooner.  The look on his face-his jaws dropped as he watched his friend on stage.   I would take a peek at him every now and again and smile.  He never took his eyes away.  I loved watching his reaction.  Our son has no aspirations to act, but the experience was so great.  We'll definitely be doing this more.

Here's what I wore:

When: June 3rd

Where: At The Sound of Music
