Fabulous for Less Under $250: Cozy Chic

Living in southern California, we really don't get much of a winter. I admit, we're a bit isolated from the rest of the country. But last week's trip to the Twin Cities brought it all back. Hello, it's definitely winter season.

The wool coat, chunky sweaters, scarves, and boots... I was piling on the layers. In this fab for less, we're going for cozy chic in soft knits and cold weather basics.

The Look: Day-to-day, I love the idea of bundling up in a cropped sweater layered with a tank and knit jacket. Comfortable and easy with a lot of stretch. Here, it's about mixing patterns; classic stripes finished with a chic floral scarf. Skinnies, leggings or knit pants are all fabulous options for this look. And nothing is easier than flat boots for battling the snow. Love the toughness of this lace-up style by ALDO.

Get Ready for Spring 2011 Fashion Trends

It's always tough to shift gears after the holidays. But with the start of a new year, there's no better time than now to begin planning for Spring. And after a season filled with black, greys, creams, and "military," my wardrobe is dying for a dose of color.

Yes... Color and lots of it. From Michael Kors to Naeem Khan, the runways were bursting with bold yellows, blues, and oranges. Offering a sophisticated note, designers also introduced a palette of pales and blush hues. Always a favorite, the return of bold prints and lush floral gardens as seen at D&G. And get ready for a touch of 70s fever with retro inspired prints, jumpsuits, and the high-waisted pant as wardrobe musts.
