Get Ready for Spring: The Iconic Trench

The trench is an American classic and one staple everyone should have in their wardrobes. One of the most versatile pieces you'll find, it brings instant chicness from the office to casual airport style. I'm loving it with a pencil skirt, chambray shirt, bold necklace, and pumps or simply relaxed with a cardi, tee, skinnies, and ballet flats. A spring "gotta have it."

New York Fashion Week Fall 2010: Naeem Khan

He's dressed First Lady Michelle Obama and his designs are a favorite among the Hollywood crowd. One could only expect nothing but spectacular from designer Naeem Khan.

"A celebration of glamour with a touch of American classic sportswear and a hint of love, sex and rock & roll." The show opened to music from Lenny Kravitz and Guns n Roses while models in faux hawks walked the runway in glam embellished frocks. A whirlwind of antique crystals, metallic pailette beading, luxurious fox fur...  His long sleeve crystal beaded mini dress is sure to find its way on the red carpet this season. This is a collection every girl wishes for.  Naeem Khan Fall 2010 in one word--brilliant!!!

New York Fashion Week Fall 2010: J Mendel

J. Mendel's Fall 2010 collection was inspired by the works of American photographer Ryan McGinley. Explaining, "It always starts with color and texture. The images from Ryan McGinley's 'Moonmilk' series were so beautiful and organic."

Luxe fur coats, vests, and hats; metallic tweeds; gold, bronze, silver, and sequins.. A fantasy collection with one shoulder and strapless evening gowns done in silk faille and satin-face mousseline, sexy sheer paneling, and beautiful draping to perfectly contour a woman's body. Love!!!

Get Ready for Spring: Feminine Ruffles

We've seen ruffles on the runways and all over the red carpet. This is one trend I'm loving season after season. From softly structured to sheer cascading layers, they bring a really feminine and romantic feeling to any look.

Note:
You can overdo it. Moderation is key in keeping it modern and sophisticated.

2010 Grammy Awards Red Carpet: Best and Worst Dressed

Bodysuits and plenty of skin on and off the Grammys red carpet. Few dared to take it there, but the ones who did...Grammy stunners. Lady Gaga in Armani Prive, a walking solar system and in a league of her own. Britney Spears and Ciara followed suit in half naked ensembles, but totally missed the mark. Strangely depressing... What happened to rock 'n roll? The men were surprisingly dapper (Usher, LL Cool J, and Flo Rida too) in sleek and perfectly tailored suits.

The best and worst dressed stars:

BEST
Love, looove Rihanna in white!!! This is the way to do Grammys to the next level. Elegantly done yet so rock 'n roll in Elie Saab. High feathered collar, strong shoulders, and beautiful open back is contrasted with soft, feminine draping. Hair and makeup was flawless!!

Carrie Underwood was gorgeous in Georges Chakra. The look was delicate, modern, and so pretty. Strappy asymmetrical shoulder did it for me.

This was Grammys glam! Pink is no girly girl, but this Tony Ward gave us both rock 'n roll and sexy. Loving the ombre and fabulous jeweled sweetheart neckline; jewels by Neil Lane.

New momma Jennifer Hudson looked amazingly tiny in Victoria Beckham. This was no ordinary black dress. Modern architectural waistline balanced her upper body. She's got this hourglass shape going on. Super flattering!

Maxwell, winner of "Best R&B Album" also takes top honors for best dressed male of the night. Sharp suit and just ultra dapper.

WORST
R&B singer, Ciara in Givenchy. Sorry C, but there's just too much going on here. The alien-esque shoulders, orbital sleeves, laced legs...just all wrong.

Fergie fell just short of Grammy fab in this cobalt blue Emilio Pucci mini dress. Color is fantastic and her body is beyond. Hate to say it, but I wanted to see more.

Britney Spears in a black bodysuit and sheer netted dress by Dolce & Gabanna. What happened??? You be the judge.

Adam Lambert by far the worst dressed male of the night. Goth Colonel Sanders meets young Liberace??

2010 Grammy Awards: Best Dressed Performer

My choice for best dress of the night and it wasn't on the Grammys red carpet. Superstar Beyonce stunned the crowd with a fierce performance of "If I Were a Boy." Rocking it in a strapless architectural Versace mini dress. Love!!!!
