Mens Fall Trend: Plaid Shirts

We've seen plaids shirts all summer long and they're making a cool transition into fall. Call it "cowboy chic" or a retake on 90s grunge, either way I am loving this trend for the guys. Throw on a a light henley and layer with a plaid flannel, hooded jacket, distressed denim, and black sneaks for that casual cool look. It's so easy-gotta have it!

Fall Accessories Trend: Studded Belts

Every girl needs a fabulous studded belt this season. From skinny to heavily embellished, it's about bringing a cool edge to your fall wardrobes. I'm especially loving the double wraps with boyfriend shirts, tees, shifts, and wider styles with sheaths. It's the perfect must-have now and will be right on trend for spring.

Shop Zara Online Soon!

Living in the Twin Cities, I had access to the largest mall in the country. Nordstrom, Chanel, Bloomingdales, Macy's, H&M, the list goes on. However, there was one store missing I prayed would make the list...ZARA.

The Spanish retail chain carries some of the most fabulous runway styles at beyond affordable prices. If you're a fan of H&M, you'll love this store. Now that I've moved to LA, The Grove location has become one of my favorite hot spots thanks to Zara. With every visit, I am always amazed by the selections; for both men and women-accessories included. And I just love that they've maintained this posh department store vibe without the super high price tag.

Their fall collection is a fashionista's dream. From pretty eyelet dresses, studded jackets, sequin minis to luxe fur coats-they've got it. I snapped this tweed/leather jacket on my shopping excursion today; classic fabric designed with a touch of edge. Love it! Their studded sandals, booties, boots, belts-fantastic!!! Honestly, I didn't want to leave.

Now, for everyone else missing out on all this fabulousness... Word is this fall/winter, Zara will finally be launching their online store! Thank you fashion Gods!!! Stay tuned.

Jimmy Choo for H&M Collection

H&M has been tight lipped since their June announcement; keeping all images of their Jimmy Choo for H&M collection under major wraps. Although, during New York Fashion Week I got a sneak peek of their campaign in this issue of The Daily. Sandals advertised at $129 seems like a steal compared to their usual red carpet prices and blingin accessories...exciting!!!

Today, the wait is over! Lucky us... The photos are out!!! And the look is definitely 80s inspired with tough chic appeal; lots of studded, sequin, and crystal accents with punches of red, cobalt blue, hot pinks, animal prints, and of course black. It's probably one of H&M's hottest collabos ever!!!! Girls, be prepared for a fashion beat down!

Jimmy Choo for H&M premieres in select stores November 14th--will include both mens and womenswear as well as shoes, bags, and accessories. Check out some of my faves below.

Note: LA--The exclusive collection will only be available at two locations: H & M on Sunset Blvd and the Beverly Center. MN--You'll have to grab a flight to Chicago. The collection will NOT be available at either Mall of America or Southdale locations.

Fall Accessories Trend: Crystal Necklaces

If you haven't jumped on the "statement" necklace trend yet, now is the time to shop. I think I've purchased more necklaces than I've ever had any other season. Designers are dishing out some really fantastic pieces for fall and it's a small investment to make for that "wow" factor.

I spotted this crystal necklace by J Crew and nearly died! It's soooo stunning and will be perfect with everything. Wear this to the office, casually with a tee, chambray shirt or with an amazing dress on the weekend. This crystal necklace has that jus!!! Sparkle for day is the new look for fall; love!!

2009 Primetime Emmy Awards: Best and Worst Red Carpet

The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards --hosted by Neil Patrick Harris Sunday (Sept 20) at the Nokia in Los Angeles, CA. Red Carpet trends: reds, purples, sweeping gowns, and sprinkles of sparkle.

BEST

Samantha Who? star Christina Applegate radiated in this navy gown by Lebanese designer Basil Soda. Sexy and elegant; loved the draped shoulder contrasted with a sheer printed waistline. She wore it with confidence; so beautiful!

Mad Men's January Jones was stunning in a minty strapless Atelier Versace. Corseted art-deco design was beyond next level and showed off her amazing shape. Gunmetal Jimmy Choos sets it off perfectly.

House beauty Olivia Wilde dares to show us why she's #1 on Maxim's Hot 100 list. This lacey pieced pale blue gown by Marchesa was pulled especially for her from their Spring 2010 collection.

Hayden Panettiere was the look of new Hollywood glam in this fiery J. Mendel gown. Asymmetrical shoulder and panels were incredibly flattering while makeup and softly upswept hair were flawless. Hayden's best red carpet look ever!

Loved that Kristen Chenoweth opted for a mini-dress. She brought the glam and shine in this mirrored stunner by Zuhair Murad; absolutely wow!!! The Pushing Daisies actress took home an Emmy for lead actress in a comedy.

Actor Jon Cryer of Two and a Half Men is our best dressed man of the night. Layering a striped cardi with a Mochino suit; so sharp, perfectly geek chic, and true to his character. Love, love!!! Cryer also won an Emmy for best supporting actor in a comedy.

WORST

Top Chef host/judge Padma Lakshmi who can make just about anything look stunning, took a misstep in this purple gown by Badgley Mischka. Red rosettes along hips makes a horrible accent color and placement was completely unflattering.

Longtime Young and the Restless co-star Victoria Rowell displayed her affinity for President Barack Obama in the form of this Emmy dress. Way to make a statement! Now welcome to the worst dressed list!

Gossip Girl Leighton Meester went for Grecian in this Bottega Veneta gown. White is always beautiful on the red carpet. Although, we could have done without the ginormous twisted shoulder knots; just completely overpowered the look.

New York Fashion Week: Milly Spring 2010

Milly
by Michelle Smith at the Promenade

Ended the day with one of my favorite designers, Milly. The line was excessively long, but so worth the wait. Trend alert: full mini skirts, cuffed shorts, swingy jackets, big 80s style bows, ankle booties, and chunky statement necklaces (her debut collection). Colors for spring: black, gold, greys accented with pops of pink, orange, and yellows.

Reality TV star turned designer Lauren Conrad front row at Nanette Lepore in her little lime dress; the cause of a media frenzy.

My fave turquoise ruffled blouse.

Expect color!!! Spring palette: acid yellows and neons with flirty printed dresses and striped knits.

New York Fashion Week: Tory Burch Spring 2010

First up...
Tory Burch at the Salon

Loved Tory's spring collection!!! So many wearable, chic separates for day with perfect little sequined numbers sprinkled in for party hour . Bring back the classic trench, pinks, tie-dye prints, and floral dresses (not shown). Metallics as the new neutral for spring.

Blue ombre sequined mini-dress, sky-high ankle straps, eyelet tops and skirts, cuffed pants, sequined skirts, and hooded jackets in sophisticated neutrals.

Blue gingham printed jacket, pant, strappy sandals, and over-sized clutch for day. Leather accents, statement belts, and scalloped navy shorts for night. I'm buying the shorts!!!

Daytime goes glam with a chic chambray shirt and full shimmering skirt. Three little ladies adorn this whimsical belt to pull it all together.

Designer Tory Burch going through the collection with Vogue's Anna Wintour. The iconic fashion editor was amazingly elegant and just as mysterious in person.

Even with a heavily crowded room and media grabbing for interviews, R&B artist Miss Toni Braxton was so sweet to pose for our blog. Lovin her veiled topper and poppin blue nails. Of her outfit, "it's not this season's Tory Burch, but it's Tory Burch." **America's Next Top Model fashion photographer Nigel Barker also made his rounds at the show.
