Fall Shoe Trend: Over the Knee Boots

Gearing up for my trip to the Twin Cities... This week's Pre-Fall shopping exursion will include all things warm and wonderfully toasty. Of those things, fabulous shoes and boots. A glance at this season's footwear trends...get ready for over-the-knee boots and nearly thigh-highs (think Stevie Nicks meets "Pretty Woman"). Loved them on the runways, but it's all about making them work for "real" people and real wardrobes. Dressing clients for everyday is a completey different matter. PTA ready? Perhaps not. On the other hand, incorporating over-the-knees with "night out" styles...totally edgy and downright sexy. The Look: pair with a minidress or dark skinny jeans, a black boyfriend blazer, and lots of "tough girl" accessories. Definitely pop it with a snakeskin or neon-colored clutch. This one is a must-buy!

Remember the big poofy perms? Fortunately, my Aqua Net lovin days are gone. But you may have noticed much of what was hot in the 80s are back and along with it...the classic denim jacket. Denim on denim-not so much. Although pair it a maxi, jumpsuit or sundress, it's the style to steal. For casual cool...flip the sleeves, and accessorize with flat embellished sandals and a fedora.

Top Fall Trend: The Boyfriend Blazer

It's that time again... Pre-fall shopping season!!! Whether you're ready or not, it's time to start planning for your fall wardrobes. One of the top trends on my must-have list is the boyfriend blazer. It made a huge statement last season, and will continue strong as a key piece for fall.

A classic wardrobe staple, the blazer will the most versatile item you purchase this season. Layered with a a loose tank and skinnies or worn over a dress...it's a super chic look. For a dose of "rocker" edge, mix it up with multi-layered chain necklaces, chunky silver cuffs, and a glam statement ring.

Styles to note are loose with a longer silhouette. Expect strong shoulders (lightly padded), single and double-breasted styles, and long sleeves (for a rolled or pushed up look).
